Family Guy art has reimagined the characters of the animated show in a variety of unique mediums. The adult cartoon, which was created by Seth MacFarlane, has run for 21 seasons and is currently airing season 22 weekly after its premiere on October 1. The show follows the misadventures of the Quahog-based Griffin family, including parents Peter (MacFarlane) and Lois (Alex Borstein), their teenage children Chris (Seth Green) and Meg (Mila Kunis), the baby Stewie (MacFarlane), and their talking dog Brian (MacFarlane).

Ahead of the premiere of Family Guy season 22, the Instagram account dejaview.tv shared a collection of AI-generated art pieces bringing the show’s characters to life either in 3D animation or a live-action-style rendering. Check out the post below:

The gallery ncludes reimaginings of the characters Quagmire, Peter, Stewie, Lois, Meg, Cleveland, Brian, Chris, and the Evil Monkey. Some are more accurate than others, and one of the most unusual interpretations is a more-or-less live-action Stewie that eschews his typically football-shaped head in favor of a more naturally round baby head.

Family Guy Is No Stranger to Live-Action

The possibility of a live-action Family Guy has never been fully explored by the show’s creative team. While there have long been rumors of a possible live-action movie based on the property, none has ever come to fruition. The closest it has gotten so far is a 2018 announcement from Fox that a hybrid movie featuring animation and live-action was in development, though not much word has been heard from that project since then.

However, the show itself has long dabbled in including live-action elements, though it generally avoids depictions of its central characters in live-action. Many Family Guy episodes have featured live-action scenes. Perhaps most famously, the show has a running gag where characters will seek to provide a distraction by introducing performances by country music legend Conway Twitty, at which point the show cuts to archive footage of the late musician, who passed away six years before Family Guy premiered.

In addition to featuring both original and archived live-action footage, Family Guy has dabbled in hybrid scenes where live-action actors interact with the animated characters. Actors who have appeared on the show in any of these live-action formats include Adam West, Liam Hemsworth, Matthew Perry, and Scott Bakula. However, these new AI-generated live-action renderings of the characters still feel entirely unusual despite the show’s willingness to showcase multiple formats.
