There was some terrific news from MVD Entertainment Group this past week.
Director Albert Band’s 1987 film release of Ghoulies II — the delightful sequel to the surprising good 1985 release of Ghoulies — will be getting a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack release on July 9 … and Ghoulies II be installed as a member of MVD’s popular “Rewind Collection” 4K library!
This is a new restoration from the original camera negative and includes both the theatrical cut (rated PG-13) and the R-rated “Director’s Cut” of the film as viewing options.
Screenwriter Dennis Paoli (Re-Animator, The Dentist, Dagon, etc.) will be providing an introduction to the 4K viewing options.
Bonus goodies are included on the Blu-ray disc and these include deleted scenes and two extended-length featurettes (almost like mini filmmaking documentaries) — “More Toilets, More Terror: The Making of Ghoulies 2” and “Under A Magic Moon: Interview with Dennis Paoli.”
