Murder in a Small Town is a new Canadian mystery series that is airing on Fox in the U.S.
Rossif Sutherland stars in the new show as detective Karl Alberg alongside Kristin Kreuk as Cassandra Mitchell, a librarian who becomes his love interest.
The series is based on the novels by L.R. Wright and Rossif‘s famous father, the late Donald Sutherland, actually tried to make the books into a movie many years ago.

“This was news to me,” Rossif told The New York Post. “I had no idea that this was one amongst many projects that my father had been attached to.”
“It did seem serendipitous, or maybe it was nepotism,” Rossif continued. “Here I am, my father’s now gone, and I’m in this show that he could have been a part of had it been done at a different time. It’s all a little surreal. I feel him all over this project.”
Rossif says he became an actor because of his dad. His half-brother Kiefer Sutherland is also an actor!
“In many ways, it’s what brought me close to my dad. And in many ways, it’s the thing that will keep him in my company now that he’s gone,” he said.
Murder in a Small Town will air on Fox on Tuesdays at 8/7c.
