“Getting oil out of the ground’s the most dangerous job in the world.” Is it, though? Sounds like a line from Armageddon. Paramount+ has unveiled an official trailer for the next new Taylor Sheridan thriller series called Landman, set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas. Once again about greed & power. After all of his mega success with the western series, Sheridan has been creating more crime / mob / greed series including Tulsa King and Special Ops: Lioness. This is his next new creation, based on a podcast about the oil world in Texas. A modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics. Billy Bob Thornton stars with Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, and Demi Moore; with Jon Hamm in a recurring guest role, plus Andy Garcia and Michael Peña as guest stars. Some damn good footage in this trailer, as expected from Taylor Sheridan, though it does all look like the same ol’ story again.
