Chris Daughtry‘s ripped physique steals the show in the music video for his new single “Artificial.”
The 43-year-old American Idol alum and Daughtry frontman unveiled the visual for the band’s hard-rocking new track on Thursday (August 24).
In it, he goes shirtless in a lab setting. The lab footage is intercut with scenes of him and the rest of the band rocking out in front of an apocalyptic cityscape.
There’s a twist to the video, which you need to watch through to the end to see!

After tests are conducted on Chris in the lab, it appears that he was cloned. His robotic, artificial doppelganger ends the video by taking the musician out.
“‘Artificial’ is about the potential nightmare that AI could become and the idea that everything and everyone could eventually be replaced, essentially to perfection, and rendered obsolete,” Chris told MJS Big Blog.
He continued, saying that the music video was “easily my favorite thing I’ve done in my career.”
Earlier this summer, Chris opened up about the “guilt” he feels following the deaths of his mother and stepdaughter.
