Quick Links
Mole Miners are a unique type of mutant roaming the wastes of Fallout 76. These residents of underground Appalachia are similar to ghouls in that while they maintain intelligence, they attack sight (save for Fallout 76‘s Purveyor). There are a lot of mole miner variants out there, including the limited-time Treasure Hunter Mole Miner.
It’s easy to find a Mole Miner at some point in your adventures, but if you want to tear through mole miner populations and collect their loot, a few locations are best to find them. If “Hunt For The Treasure Hunter” is an active community event, some locations become more important than ever.

Treasure Hunter Event
The locations of typical Mole Miners differ from the locations of Treasure Hunters. Treasure Hunters are event-specific Mole Miner variants appearing during “Hunt For The Treasure Hunter,” which occurs multiple times a year. If you’re trying to hunt down Treasure Hunters during this event, some of the best places to find these legendary Mole Miners include Whitespring Golf Club, Lewisburg, and Welch.
Most regular Mole Miners love to spawn within the Ash Heap and the Savage Divide. They travel in groups and love underground areas. Lucky for you, they are much easier to find than Mothman in Fallout 76.
If you’re trying to kill a bunch of Mole Miners for a weekly timed challenge, multiple spots throughout the map spawn a dozen or so mole miners at any given time.

The Seismic Activity event is one of the best, albeit dangerous, ways to kill a bunch of Mole Miners at once. This event triggers when you launch a nuke at Abandoned Mine Shaft 2 and fight the Ultracite Titan. This boss spawns multiple Mole Miners in its defense, giving you many opportunities to kill these underground dwellers.

Treasure Hunter Rewards
There are a lot of Mole Miner variants in Fallout 76, offering slightly different challenges than one another. However, each Mole Miner (except the Treasure Hunter) is largely the same as the last. They all share a universal loot pool, with specific variants offering extra items upon death.

Mole Miner farming may be a fun way to collect extra ammo if you love shotguns. From my experience, shotguns aren’t a great weapon in any Fallout game, so I would focus on hunting Supervisors, Sappers, Dredgers, Skullcrushers, and Deadly Mole Miners. These variants drop missiles and missile launchers, which are much more effective than shotguns. Ensure you have enough carry weight in Fallout 76 to hold all your new weapons.
The Treasure Hunter’s loot drops are the more valuable loot of this enemy class. Treasure Hunters drop

upon defeat, which contain anything from caps to specialized gear and legendary scrap.
You may have to use a different farming technique to hunt these enemies down, but they and their Mole Miner brethren offer plenty of resources for your adventure in Fallout 76.
