Star Wars Fans Are Heartbroken Over This One Bad Batch Moment

The newest episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch featured a particularly tragic moment that left Star Wars fans absolutely heartbroken. The Bad Batch season 3 has followed Clone Force 99 through several somber events, from Crosshair’s reunion with the rest of the Batch to Rex meeting up with Commander Wolffe again. The most recent episode might feature the season’s saddest moment yet, though, and Star Wars fans are voicing their despair.

In The Bad Batch season 3, episode 11, Clone Force 99’s ship, the Marauder, was destroyed by an Imperial shadow agent. The Bad Batch has been using the Marauder since their debut, and it had basically become a member of their squad. Losing it, while not nearly as sad as Tech’s death at the end of The Bad Batch season 2, was still like losing an old friend. Luckily, before it was destroyed, Omega placed both Tech’s goggles and Lula among Phee Genoa’s stash of treasures, safely away from the Marauder. Fans have now taken to social media to share just how heartbreaking the moment was.

While the whole ordeal was tragic, the placement of Tech’s goggles especially touched hunterbadbatch‘s heart strings. Omega placing them with the rest of Phee’s treasures shows just how much Clone Force 99 misses Tech, and how much they value him.

User elliesdrke shared her reaction to the Marauder‘s demise and noted how it marks a point of no return for the show. Since they’ll never be able to pilot their iconic ship again, The Bad Batch will likely never feel the same due to these episodes.

Meanwhile, NightmareAkela saw the tragedy of the Marauder’s destruction, but they also saw the brighter side of the bad situation. Though they don’t have their main method of transportation anymore, at least the Bad Batch still has their most sentimental possessions.

Another fan, techs_leftfemur, asked whether Tech’s goggles had really survived the attack, given there was no confirmation that they went untouched. When the Empire invaded Pabu, they began searching through the buildings there looking for Omega, and they did so very roughly. If the goggles had been destroyed in the search, it would make these episodes truly devastating.

The Bad Batch Saved Clone Force 99’s Most Valued Possessions

While the Marauder‘s destruction and Omega’s capture are huge blows to the Bad Batch, Omega was at least able to save some items with extreme sentimental value. Tech’s goggles are the only thing the squad has left of him, while Lula has been a comforting item throughout the show. The fact that no matter what happens next, they’ll both be safe on Pabu, is one of the few comforting thoughts to come out of these bleak episodes.

The latest episodes of season 3 have also continued the season’s most worrying trend towards a dark ending. With their ship gone, Omega in the Empire’s custody, and no way to track her, Clone Force 99’s future seems desolate. They’ll have to call in every ally and advantage they have to get her back, and even that might not be enough. Whatever happens in the rest of The Bad Batch season 3, though, at least the items associated with their best memories will be safe.
