Star Trek: Starfleet Academy has cast Academy Award-winner Holly Hunter as its series lead. Hunter will play an unnamed Starfleet Captain who is the Chancellor of the Academy. Set in the 32nd century of Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau. Starfleet Academy “will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy.” The Paramount+ series will begin production in late summer 2024.
