Suzanne Somers is looking back at turning down a co-hosting job on The View.

The 76-year-old Three’s Company star revealed in a new interview that she was offered the opportunity to co-host the ABC daytime talk show when the show was in development back in the late ’90s.

The late Barbara Walters created The View, which premiered back in 1997, and co-hosted the show with Joy Behar, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, and Debbie Matenopoulos.

In the interview, Suzanne revealed the two reasons why she turned down the gig.

“Everyone said, ‘Why would you turn that down? It’s a national show.’ I said, first of all, I’d have to live in New York and I don’t want to live in New York. I like the weather down here, the vibe down here,” Suzanne, who lives in California, shared on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast.

“I said, secondly, I don’t do well vying for time,” Suzanne continued. “And there, you gotta interrupt and butt in and butt out. It’s just not my personality. So, I walked away from that and I never looked back.”

Suzanne actually hosted her own eponymous daytime talk show in 1994, however, the show only lasted one season.

Suzanne later went on to co-host Candid Camera with Peter Funt on CBS from 1997 until 2000.

Just recently, a former co-host of The View slammed the show.
