Apparently the screenplay diverges from the novel in many places, even in the central focus of Insurgent’s plot. Since I am told the novel was poorly written, this is no cause for complaint, but the screenplay is the weakest part of this film, which features some of the stupidest scenes I have seen in a long time (in fairness, I generally stay away from silly action films aimed at the young).
