Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has revealed
an Aug. 29 release date for a full spread of home entertainment packaged media
editions of director Andy Muschietti’s DC Super Hero presentation of The Flash.
The ARR* is a swift-to-market 74 days. Domestic box office receipts currently stand
at $105.2 million.
Planned for distribution are stand-alone editions across
all three formats (no Combo Packs) — DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD.
On something of a sour note, Warner has inserted a
VOD window between the physical media release, which is July 18 … expect “helpers”
and “void-fillers” to take advantage of the nearly six-window before legitimate
copies are available.
As to bonus features, included here is the six-part
podcast titled “The Flash: Escape the Midnight Circus” and five featurettes — “The
Flash: Escape the Midnight Circus Behind the Scenes,” “Making the Flash: Worlds
Collide,” “Let’s Get Nuts: Batman Returns, Again,” “Supergirl: Last Daughter of
Krypton” and “Flashpoint: Introducing the Multiverse.”
*ARR
is short for Asset Rollover Rate, which measures the number of days between a
film’s theatrical debut and its subsequent arrival in the home entertainment
packaged media realm.
